Boho Jewellery Dish - Nga Manu
This gorgeous hand-painted and illustrated, wooden, jewellery dish captures an original Maori-Mandala design and two birds. The birds - Swallows - flying over head, have flowers (Kowhai flower and Pohutukawa blossom) in their beaks as a reference to the kiwis flying away to live over-seas, while the ocean surges underneath. Swallows always fly back to nest and bring up their babies in the same place year after year, as do ex-pat kiwis always find their way home, too.
This is a nice piece to add to your dresser, and has been sealed with furniture hardner so your jewellery can safely rest on the dish when not adorning lobes, fingers and wrists.
The Boho Jewellery Dish comes in two designs - both with a bohemian sort of feel - although, they have Maori-Mandala illustrations on them. Check out the other boho dish in this collection for comparison.
Enjoy!
